Krewe Daddy by Margie Church Luis is the Daddy, a sought-after lover, with an ego to match the mammoth-sized Mardi Gras floats he designs. His lifestyle and reputation are wearing him out, but Luis can't find a satisfying way to break the cycle and be happy, too. Drew's insecurities pushed him to have a foolish affair six years ago. It destroyed his relationship with Luis, and he's never been able to commit to anyone since. Now, he's taken control of his life and changed his submissive personality by becoming a model for Kevin Marks, and a wildlife enforcement agent in New Orleans. These men haven't forgotten each other, or settled their differences. When they accidentally meet in a French Quarter gay bar, the years of regret, anger, and pent-up emotions erupt. Their passion is as hot as ever, their mistrust just as potent. When Drew's future is in Luis' hands, will he choose his lifestyle or love? Featuring Kevin, Teak, and Drew from "Hard as Teak".
Krewe Daddy Margie Church Books
This M/M romance (volume two in a loosely connected series) is not awful: I did not have the urge to throw my Kindle against the far wall, but that is all there is to be said about it.It is fairly long -a good thing in itself- but the plot is really slow, often to the point of dragging. There is no real tension build-up, just a succession of bland scenes. Characters feels realistic in their emotional uncertainties but this is seldom good in a romance unless the author's writing skills are outstanding and that is not the case here.
Drew, Luis, Kyle and all the others are pale to the point of evanescence; the chemistry they are supposed to share is stated by the author but nowhere to be seen. Once again, they might be realistic -or not- but as leads in your average romance they are no good and not relatable.
Writing is not terrible but is also very plain. Sex scenes are particularly cold, detached and suffer from an entirely inadequate vocabulary choice.
Avoidable.

Krewe Daddy Margie Church Books Reviews
This is my favorit book Margie Church has writen. Its hot and sexy plus its great story line. I couldnt put it down.
I ordered this book on my to read on vacation. It was a quick read, but I wanted to write a review because I found myself thoroughly disagreeing with the previous 7 reviewers (Sorry, but I can't count the author who gave herself 5 stars as a real reviewer).
I found this book inconsistent and ill-informed. Inconsistent in that from one page to another, the lead character's feelings changed. In fact, the dialogue between the characters didn't always make sense from one line to the next. First, the reader learns that Drew had an affair and Luis broke up with him, but then the book continuously refers to the breakup being the result of Luis' actions. It goes back and forth many times. I felt that there was little fluidity from one scene to the next. This was a very choppy read. The whole "Daddy" role was not quite right either. A typical Daddy has a much younger, submissive, poorer lover. This was not the case here.
I liked the original premise of old lovers reuniting several years later, but this book didn't make me believe that Luis and Drew even liked each other for most of the book, much less loved each other. Drew spent too much time weighing his other options for me to believe he truly loved Luis in the end.
i got this book free so it was well worth the download. nice love story with just a little bit of angst but not enough to deter from the story. definitely will read again. nice job
Anyone who's read Hard as Teak knows Margie Church writes hot men.
Teak has found his HEA. Now it's Drew's turn.
Six years after Drew's affair fractured his committed relationship, he's working for Wildlife Enforcement in New Orleans and modeling part-time for Kevin Marks. Drew has finally found someone that he considers a possibility for something more serious than a casual hookup.
On the eve of making this an exclusive relationship, enter Luis, the Daddy from Drew's past.
Emotions Drew thought long gone boil to the surface, clashing with the suspicion that drove them apart six years ago.
With trepidation, they resume their tumultuous affair. A misunderstanding leads to another more devastating separation.
Can these two overcome the hurdles of the past and the barriers of the present to have a life together?
As usual, Margie's characters are well-drawn and likeable. The plot is engrossing, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the pages turning. A satisfying ending, and the door is open for more stories about this group.
Highly recommend!

Church writes genuine love stories, with all their twists and turns, ups and downs, hurts and highs. All Church's books strike this same chord. She must be a romantic at heart to believe in true love and true love winning out. I also commend her for the heat and realism in her love-making scenes. So called, because they are more than the obligatory sex scenes in erotic romance. The caring shows through along with the steaminess. More, more, Ms. Church.
The premise is good. Didn't realize until I started it that it was the second in a series. I wish I could have liked the MCs a little better, as I didn;t feel emotionally invested in either character.
The storyline has great potential, though. Maybe if I go back and read the first book, I will be pulled in more, but I do tend to be a bit prejudiced against 'cheating' stories when people are in a relationship, and both these characters, to me, anyway, acted very immature in their responses to each other's insecurities. Also, I am not too fond of the term 'Daddy', but again, that's my personal preferance.
I think my issue, after reading many M/M romances, is that I wanted this story to be a bit more engaging emotionally. Felt almost like an outside observer of both characters, without really learning to 'like' either of them. Has potential, though, and would consider continuing, if the writing tightens up, and the author is able to somehow make the MCs more likeable.
